Could Medical Data Sharing Improve Patient Care?

Each year, the world’s leading thinkers and doers gather for the TED (Technology, Entertainment and Design) Conference in Long Beach, California to share new ideas, predictions for the future and inspiring personal stories.

John Wilbanks is one of those visionaries. In his TED talk, Wilbanks wonders if the desire to protect our medical privacy (lab results, medical exams, etc) is slowing research, and if opening up medical data could lead to a wave of healthcare innovation.
